AL-KO AAA Premium Brake now also for the heavy weight class

The AL-KO AAA Premium Brake ensures more driving safety and comfort with caravans and other trailers. In addition to the Premium Brake 2051, which has been available since January 2014 for axles in the weight class 1,000 to 1,500 kilograms, there is now

Following up on the automatic brake adjustment AL-KO Automatic Adjustment (AAA) Premium Brake 2051 for axles in the weight class 1,000 to 1,500 kilograms, there is now also the AAA Premium Brake 2361 which covers the heavy weight class of caravans up to 2,000 kilograms (single axle) / 3,500 kilograms (tandem axle). This means that from January 2015, AL-KO will be able to retrofit almost all caravans on the market with this practical safety feature.

Whether AAA 2051 or AAA 2361 – both versions guarantee plenty of additional safety and comfort. The AL-KO Automatic Adjustment (AAA) Premium Brake with automatic brake adjustment, for caravans and other trailers, is quick to impress with various advantages. On the one hand this means an always optimally adjusted brake system with maximum braking effect. As well as this the jerky movement of the overrun device due to too much clearance in the brake system, and the regular workshop visits to adjust brake pads are a thing of the past.

Irregular or one-sided effectiveness of the brakes due to irregular checking or adjustment is also no longer an issue. The self-adjusting AAA Premium Brake increases safety through permanently optimized brake effectiveness. With an optimally adjusted brake system the braking distance is reduced by impressive five meters.

The driving comfort also increases: The jerky movement of the overrun device due to too much clearance in the brake system is a thing of the past. In addition, the regular workshop visits to adjust the brake pads are no longer required. The annoying first workshop visit after only 1,000 kilometers is also not needed.

This is how the automatic brake adjustment works: The brake automatically adjusts itself with every application, so that optimal clearance is always achieved. Thus the brakes are always perfectly adjusted – and this permanently over the complete life cycle of the wheel brake. When driving in reverse the adjustment mechanism uncouples itself and the adjuster is not activated at all. Incidentally: Despite automatic brake adjustment, manual adjustment via the setting wheel is still possible – the form of the previous adjusting nut has been adapted but the function remains the same.

Due to the AL-KO screw system on the wheel brake with already factory default components, authorized AL-KO service stations can easily retrofit the AL-KO AAA Premium Brake. All that is required is the retrofit kit with pre-assembled wheel brake kit, brake anchor plate and jaws. Almost any axle with bolted brake anchor plates and wheel brake 2051 or wheel brake 2361 after model year 1999 can be retrofitted. No renewed testing at TÜV is required after retrofitting.

The retrofit kit costs 200 Euro per axle for the lightweight version AAA 2051 or 300 Euro for the heavy version AAA 2361 – excluding installation.
