China with your own vehicle
Driving in China with your own vehicle is a different story, but certainly not impossible. However, it takes a lot of preparation. To get the necessary permits, you need an experts help. The preparation time normally is at least 90 days. This time is required to submit the application for the permits to the concerned departments, for your arrival in China. Given the good reputation that China Overland has built, we can also arrange this within 60 days, if there is no other possibility. This means that you have to confirm your trip to China with your own vehicle, at least 70 days prior to your arrival in China. If you are travelling overland to China, this is usually not a problem. The crossings of the countries to China are already an experience in itself and take the necessary time. However, if you ship your vehicle or flown in, or if your vehicle is ‘waiting’ for you in one of the neighbouring countries, you should be aware of the time factor.
