AL-KO Safety Premium – The new generation of anti-theft locks

Significantly more safety for caravans and trailers in three quick and easy steps

The media are constantly reporting about stolen caravans. Thieves are most active in the high season. The protection and safety of one's "mobile hotel room" – not just while driving but also when parked – has always been particularly important to AL-KO. Since the requirements of anti-theft devices are constantly rising, AL-KO has now completely revised its Safety Plus system. The new, optimised solution is called Safety Premium and, like its tried and tested predecessor, is the perfect fit for the AKS 3004 stabiliser coupling. As usual, and unlike many competing products, Safety Premium can be used whether hitched or not, and consequently while driving with closed AKS 3004.

Three quick and easy steps – and the trailer or caravan is secured by Safety Premium in three seconds: First, place the housing on the AKS stabiliser coupling, then insert the bolt into the housing and lock it. Done. The valuable caravan is now protected against theft, even when stopping during the journey, for example while taking a break or refuelling.

AL-KO Safety Premium has been thoroughly tested by AL-KO and also meets the most stringent international safety standards, such as the criteria for the "Sold Secure Gold Standard" (UK) or "SCM Tested" (Netherlands). The sturdy steel construction with powder-coated housing and a solid galvanised bolt (free of chromium(VI)) is supplied with two keys. AL-KO guarantees the mechanism for two years.

The Safety Premium replaces the Safety Plus in the Netherlands and in Great Britain with immediate effect – the proven silver Safety Compact remains a low-cost entry-level product against quick attacks. The Safety Premium will be available in Sweden from 1 September and in Germany and the rest of Europe from January 2016.
