Satellite dishes are a thing of the past - the Pioneer Wifi router brings streaming and Internet into and in front of the camper.
In many modern vehicles, the router now also replaces the satellite system. Without the approx. 20 kg roof load of the dish and the additional air resistance, this is also noticeable in terms of consumption.
A WiFi router that is perfectly tailored to use in the camper in terms of size and operation and offers a range that also guarantees a reliable Internet connection outside the vehicle is of course best suited for this. With the Pioneer DCT-WR204-SH WiFi router, secure, stable 2.4GHz and 5GHz WiFi accompanies your camping vacation.
The device is flexible when it comes to the source of the data: 2G, 3G and 4G LTE or even the campsite's WiFi are suitable, as the repeater function with "captive hotspot" makes logging in and using an existing network with multiple devices child's play.
Thanks to its compact dimensions and clever design, the DCT-WR204-SH takes up hardly any space and can be installed in the vehicle in no time at all. With its front-mounted controls including status LEDs and the placement of all connections on the rear, the device meets all the requirements for optimum use.
The indoor WLAN antennas are housed in the router casing, while additional transmitters in the roof antenna included in the scope of delivery serve the outdoor area around the vehicle. This antenna also has a clever design: Its "shark" shape allows installation even on corrugated roofs.
The router is controlled via smartphone, tablet or PC/Mac. Its web-based user interface is available in either simple basic mode or expert mode. A configurable guest access allows external users to log in quickly via QR code - and the owner to limit the data rate.
In addition to two LAN ports, two SIM card slots are available. This means that the most frequently used SIM card can always remain in one slot, while the second slot is available for loading an additional SIM according to individual requirements or destination.
The classic on/off switch allays the concerns of users who do not want any radio radiation in their vicinity at night. A programmable timer control is also available as an option.
The router will be available from the beginning of June from certified Pioneer dealers at a recommended retail price of 599 euros including roof antenna and cabling
