Keep burglars at bay

E-Trailer is presenting its new E-Alarm module at the CARAVAN SALON as an addition to the E-Trailer Starter Package Plus.

26 August 2026, Rijswijk/Düsseldorf – At the Caravan Salon 2026 in Düsseldorf, E-Trailer is showcasing its new E-Alarm module for the first time in Hall 13, Stand C21. For the past two years, the combination of the Starter Package Plus, E-Switch and E-Movement has enabled the E-Trailer system to detect attempted break-ins into the caravan and alert the owner via their smartphone. The new E-Alarm module can now also deter burglars from the caravan using an alarm sound and flashing light, whilst alerting neighbours. The sound and light settings can be configured in advance entirely according to personal preferences.

When the user arms the E-Trailer alarm system, they can specify how the alarm is to be triggered. Either, as before, solely via a notification on the smartphone, or additionally with light signals on the E-Alarm module, or even with additional sound signals on the E-Alarm module. The type and duration of the light and sound signals can also be adjusted as required.

More than just an alarm signal

In the event of an attempted break-in detected by E-Switch (door and window contacts) or E-Movement (motion sensor), the user will naturally choose the alarm setting that attracts the maximum amount of attention. But E-Alarm can be used for more than just an alarm system. It can also be used with all other E-Trailer modules. For example, E-Alarm can flash in a specific colour when the gas cylinder is almost empty or the water in the fresh water tank is running low. Should E-Pressure detect a loss of pressure in a tyre, an audible signal whilst driving the motorhome can be helpful.

For these purposes, E-Alarm distinguishes between three types of alarm: Urgent, Useful and Battery Notification. ‘Urgent’ would, of course, be an attempted break-in; ‘Useful’ would be, for example, a level warning; and the ‘Battery Notification’ indicates that a sensor will soon require a new battery. In addition to the default factory settings, the appropriate signals can be assigned to all three alarm types in the E-Trailer app. To do this, the type of alarm sound, duration of the alarm sound, colour of the light signals and light animation are customised for each alarm type.

E-Alarm has a 5-second pre-warning phase during which only the light signals are active before the alarm tone sounds. This gives the owner a brief moment to assess the situation and react in the event of a false alarm, before the neighbours are unnecessarily disturbed.

E-Alarm is mounted inside the campervan using screws or Velcro tape. As the sensor is not waterproof, it cannot be attached to the outside of the campervan.
