The Caravan Center, the caravan site at car park P1 of the exhibition centre, is popular with all caravanning fans wanting to spend the night in their own motorhome or caravan when visiting CARAVAN SALON DÜSSELDORF (26 August to 3 September 2017). For this purpose a total of over 3,000 serviced and non-serviced pitches will be available. For the duration of the CARAVAN SALON Caravan Center Düsseldorf becomes Europe’s largest caravan site.
New Pricing System
“The pricing system has now been adapted to ensure charging is better tailored to customer behaviour. To this end we are introducing day bookings (8 am to 7 pm) and night bookings (7 pm to 8 am) which for an un-serviced pitch cost Euro 9 each. The flat-fee for a first booking always costs Euro 18 after which visitors can individually determine the length of their stay in 9-Euro stages,” explains Erkeling. Arrival on the eve of the date of the booking from 4 pm is possible. As in previous years, a pitch can already be rented for a complete day/night booking from Euro 18 (or for Euro 25 per day/night for a serviced pitch with a power connection). Members of the free CARAVAN SALON Club receive a Euro 1.50 reduction per unit booked.
The Caravan Center is open throughout the day until the evening from 7.30 am to 10 pm.
Pitch Bookings only Possible Online
To be able to coordinate the service even better on site and to avoid long queues at check-in this year bookings for the Caravan Center will only be possible in advance online. “Unfortunately, this year it will no longer be possible to take bookings on site. Due to the great demand we recommend pitches are booked early via the Ticketshop,” says Detlef Erkeling from the logistics department at Messe Düsseldorf. If the Caravan Center is fully booked various alternative sites are available in the vicinity.
The pitch booking system will go live from early July from which point it will be accessible to all persons wishing to book a pitch. At the user interface, once personal data has been entered, vehicle type is then selected (car and caravan, motorhome, mobile home with trailer). Once the order has been placed the booking slip needs to be printed out so that this can be validated by ticketing staff at the Caravan Center.
Great Service all around the Caravan Center
When the trade fair closes its doors the Caravan Center is the caravanning community’s meeting point bringing together exhibitors, visitors, journalists and all other fans of mobile vacationing. A large marquee offering a musical line-up in the evenings makes for fun, entertainment and cosy togetherness. “2,000 breakfast rolls, 450 sausages, 250 burger buns, 300 dishes of food and 7,500 glasses of beer are sold on a daily basis,” reports Detlef Erkeling.
Those wishing to explore Düsseldorf’s famous Old Town after a long day at the trade fair can also take advantage of a special service: a free shuttlebus will take visitors in comfort into the Old Town and back again to the Caravan Center in the evening.
Green Light into the Exhibition Centre
Both Düsseldorf Exhibition Centre and the Caravan Center are located outside Düsseldorf’s environmental zone. When arriving at CARAVAN SALON DÜSSELDORF via the motorway A44 no emissions sticker is therefore necessary. Those wishing to travel to the event quickly and easily using their sat nav should enter “Am Staad, 40474 Düsseldorf” into the address field. The Caravan Center is right by motorway A44, exit 29 “Düsseldorf-Messe/Arena”.
The Caravan Center is reserved solely for registered vehicles. For vehicles without permanent registration (for instance those with export, dealer or temporary plates) three alternative parking lots are available, two of which are near the exhibition centre:
