Caravanning is more than just a holiday – it’s a way of life that embodies freedom, independence and the desire to discover new places. This fascination is still very much in evidence at the CARAVAN SALON DÜSSELDORF until Sunday, 6 September. In the 15 exhibition halls and on the outdoor fairgrounds, people who share a passion for mobile travel are coming together to experience the full diversity of caravanning. “We are extremely pleased with how the 65th CARAVAN SALON has gone so far. Up to and including Wednesday, 164,000 caravanning fans have already made their way to Düsseldorf. This impressively demonstrates the sheer level of enthusiasm for mobile travel and the interest in the latest developments in the industry. Our visitors arrive at the fair very well-informed and with specific ideas in mind. At the same time, we are experiencing the special atmosphere that defines the CARAVAN SALON: people who share a passion for caravanning meet manufacturers, dealers and experts from all over the world,” says Director Stefan Koschke.
It is precisely in challenging times, when consumer sentiment tends to be rather cautious, that the inestimable value of the Düsseldorf trade fair for the entire industry becomes clear. “The CARAVAN SALON doesn’t just showcase products – it opens concrete possibilities. Visitors can find inspiration, compare different concepts, experience and try out vehicles and solutions first-hand, and thus find exactly the right option to suit their individual needs and lifestyle. Nowhere else can such a diverse range of brands, layouts, vehicle concepts, technical innovations and equipment options be directly compared with one another within the space of a few hours. It is precisely this unique combination that makes the CARAVAN SALON so valuable to visitors. It is therefore not only the caravanning world’s major showcase, but also the most important venue for direct comparison from the customer’s perspective and one of the industry’s most significant sales platforms,” adds Stefan Koschke.
Daniel Onggowinarso, Managing Director of the Caravaning Industry Association (CIVD), emphasizes the great significance of the CARAVAN SALON for the caravanning industry: “Once again this year, the exhibitors are impressively demonstrating what our industry has to offer. The packed halls and the enthusiastic response from visitors prove just how great the fascination with caravans and motorhomes is, and what a magnet the CARAVAN SALON is. The unique variety of products and the numerous innovations ensure that there is always something new for visitors to discover. This is precisely where the special significance of the trade fair for our sector lies. It brings together manufacturers, retailers and visitors, whilst also creating an important platform for dialogue with other sectors of the tourism industry and, above all, with the political sphere. Dialogue with political decision-makers is an integral part of the CARAVAN SALON for us. We are delighted that high-ranking political representatives, including State Secretary Dr Claudia Elif Stutz and Luxembourg’s Minister for the Economy and Tourism, Lex Delles, were present and were able to see for themselves the importance of our sector. After all, caravanning is far more than just a form of holiday. It is a significant economic and tourism factor in Germany, Europe and beyond.”
At the 65th CARAVAN SALON, a record number of 834 exhibitors from 41 countries are showcasing motorhomes and caravans of all sizes and price ranges, as well as base vehicles, accessories, technical equipment, fit-out components, tents, mobile homes, campsites, motorhome sites and travel destinations, until 6 September.
