The German caravanning industry has experienced rapid growth in recent years, and demand for its main products – caravans and motor caravans – is greater than ever before. But as this also means that there’s a growing demand for qualified skilled workers, the Caravaning Industrie Verband (CIVD) has been instrumental in the development of a specialized career path known as “caravan and motor caravan technology“ within the discipline of “bodywork and vehicle manufacturing mechanic“.

The topics are as varied as they are diverse: In your basic training, you will learn the fundamentals of craftsmanship and automotive technology. In addition, there is extensive specialized knowledge about recreational vehicles: e.g. the manufacture of parts made of wood, lightweight materials or GRP for interior and exterior use. Technically complex topics such as electronics and liquid gas are also part of the curriculum.
