A dream come true
The dream of owning your own panel van can be fulfilled because someone had a vision and the courage to build it. Of course, Clever Vans is not the first motorhome brand to have converted a panel van, but it is a very special one.
Ralf Gösser, who has been in contact with the motorhome industry since his childhood, was able to fulfil this wish after many stations in his life (including his own business for van conversions and product manager for a motorhome manufacturer).
Today, the management of Clever is still in his hands, supported by his family and a small team, which has its office at the parent company Pössl in Upper Bavaria.
How it all began - Our headquarters in Toszeg
Within 9 years, it has been possible in Toszeg, seemingly from nothing, to build up a company on an area of more than 40,000m² and a production area of 6000m². A motivated team of more than 160 employees, supported by the most modern CNC equipment, produces Clever Vans according to customer requirements.
Originally, there was a factory for seat upholstery on the premises, which is where the know-how in our own upholstery shop comes from. Tibor Toth, the head of production, used to manufacture seat upholstery for Porsche, among others, and this experience naturally also flows into our upholstery construction. The foaming, upholstery and sewing of the covers are therefore at the highest level at Clever and come from our own production.
This is also the great advantage of Clever, the in-house production of components. Because only a few components have to be bought externally. This means that we have a great deal of influence on our manufacturing quality and can act at lightning speed if improvements are necessary.
