Augustdorf

Senne and Augustdorf - an inseparable connection. From here there are numerous excursion possibilities on foot or by bike in the breathtakingly beautiful landscape up to the Hermann heights. Enjoy wide views, blooming heath landscapes, unspoilt forests, deep stream gorges and the dunes of the Senne as well as the beech-covered mountain ranges of the Teutoburg Forest.

Augustdorf was founded in 1775 by Count Simon August zur Lippe and is both the home of the Senne horses and the location of the former Lopshorn stud farm and hunting lodge.

Today Augustdorf is a modern community with a good infrastructure and a very varied, unique landscape.

Bad Salzuflen

Nestled in the charming forest and hilly landscape of the Teutoburg Forest, Bad Salzuflen creates ideal conditions for those seeking relaxation and nature enthusiasts.

Known for its healing brine springs, the historic salt-boiling town offers air and water like at the seaside. 600,000 litres of brine trickle daily over the imposing graduation towers in the heart of the town and provide a fresh sea breeze.

Go on a discovery tour through the historic old town, enjoy the splendour of the flowers in the spa gardens, explore the landscaped gardens and the nearby woodlands or visit one of our event highlights.

Since August 2015, Bad Salzuflen has been certified as an "allergy-friendly municipality".

Detmold

The former royal seat is a city of culture and nature. Detmold has made a name for itself as a cultural town beyond the regional borders. The Landestheater, the Hochschule für Musik, a varied and rich cultural life as well as numerous sights contribute to this.

The completion of the "Friedrichstal Park Landscape", which stretches from the historic old town to the island meadows near the open-air museum, has created another highlight.

Situated in the Teutoburg Forest / Eggegebirge Nature Park, Detmold is also worthwhile for nature lovers, as many hiking and cycling trails pass through the city, such as the "Hermannsweg" or the "Römer-Lippe-Route" cycle path.

Kalletal

In the truest sense of the word, Kalletal lies "at the top of Lippe", nestled in the gentle hilly landscape of the North Lippe uplands directly on the Weser.

If you go on a discovery tour in Kalletal, you will find a unique fauna and flora. Not only in the designated nature reserves you will find a variety of wildflower species (including many orchids) in addition to the larkspur.

The kingfisher still breeds here, and in winter whooper swans from the far north live here as guests. The main bird migration route also passes through the middle of the Kalletal. Cranes can be seen regularly migrating south. Grey herons have established a colony near the Weser.

On a good network of hiking and cycling trails you can experience this nature particularly intensively.

SCHIEDER-SCHWALENBERG

Nature in abundance, villages characterised by half-timbered houses as well as art and culture with a long tradition have always been attractions of our town.

It is not for nothing that the princes of Lippe built their summer residence here and created an extensive park in the middle of the beautiful low mountain range landscape.

The SchiederSee leisure centre also has much more to offer than "just" a magnificent view of the lake. Furthermore, the eventful landscape with many vantage points invites you to hike and relax.

About us

Company portrait

WHO WE ARE AND WHAT WE DO

We, the Lippe Tourismus & Marketing GmbH, have the task of marketing the region "Land of Hermann" in the sense of its shareholders. This is done in the areas of tourism and location marketing through internal and external marketing.

In this area, we fulfil the task of supplying all Lippe towns and communities, and thus of course also the businesses located there from the retail, gastronomy and hotel sectors, with incoming traffic and purchasing power.

Our core tasks are: market research & evaluation, service for guests & tourism partners, tourism marketing, press & public relations, product development, cooperations & networks as well as projects.

The basis of our tourism marketing is the analysis of statistical data and trend studies as well as our own evaluation, which has been carried out continuously since 2009.

The evaluation is based on three pillars. Firstly, there is a survey of the region's excursion destinations, secondly, larger selected events and thirdly, special surveys on specific topics. In 2016, more than 10,000 visitors were surveyed in this context.

The further development of service quality is a permanent process for us. Therefore, we have participated in the project "Service Q" of the German Tourism Association just like numerous regional tourist information offices and have been awarded. In addition, we also have trained certifiers for the awarding of stars for holiday apartments/chalets and guesthouses, quality coaches for hiking-friendly businesses, can evaluate the bicycle-friendly businesses according to the criteria of the ADFC as a bed + bike business and certify quality hiking trails, according to the criteria of the German Hiking Association.

In addition to our core tasks, we participate in and support projects that are intended to make the region even more attractive.
