The Scuddy Story
During their studies at the University of Applied Sciences in Kiel, the friends Tim Ascheberg and Jörn Jacobi realized that their goal after graduation could only be self-employment. In their joint Master's thesis, the company founders then considered all the options available to them. In the end, it came down to the production of a vehicle, as they had already gained a lot of experience in this field through their involvement in "Team Raceyard" at Kiel University of Applied Sciences.
The idea was to build an electrically powered vehicle that is sustainable, comfortable to ride while sitting or standing, fun, practical and easy to operate. But the vehicle should also be transportable everywhere and that without causing further costs. It couldn't be a bicycle - these don't meet the mobility requirements identified and can only be taken along for free on buses and trains, for example, to a limited extent. Here Jörn and Tim saw their chance to develop a small, foldable vehicle, which is suitable for road traffic as well as for public transport. After a lot of thinking, testing, calculating, researching and developing the first Scuddy was born. At that time it was still a prototype, which was to go into series production a short time later, after a few tests.
A three-wheeled scooter, completely foldable to the size of a sports bag, weighing just under 27.5 kg and with performance comparable to a Vespa. And the best thing is the sustainability: the whole thing is completely electrically powered. The powerful battery is fully charged in a short time and the motor drives the scooter powerfully so that it can reach speeds of up to 45 km/h. The idea was to create an electrically powered vehicle.
After successful TV appearances in various shows, such as "Schlag den Raab" on ProSieben, on mdr in "Einfach genial" or the VOX start-up show "Die Höhle der Löwen", in which the young entrepreneurs made a deal with the "lions" Ralf Dümmel and Jochen Schweizer, things went steadily uphill for the Scuddy company.
The Scuddy Story is unique - no other e-scooter can offer this technology in the space available. The vertical range of manufacture "made in Germany" is without competition and the most important - the scuddy team is always there for the customers! Customer proximity and feedback is what drives us - THANK YOU!
