Annual press conference: Bürstner – we bring that "wohnfühlen" home away from home feel to life on the road

Bürstner is consistently extending its portfolio, and will be offering various new model ranges, including electric vehicles, with the "wohnfühlen" home away from home feel that is typical for the brand, from the new season onwards. In addition, several caravans have been given facelifts. Besides these new models and facelifts, it is also forging ahead in the digitalisation area with the My Bürstner app, and the "Bürstner Individual" label extends the company's service portfolio.

Düsseldorf. The extension of the Bürstner product spectrum is progressing further. The spectacular highlight at this year's Caravan Salon in Düsseldorf will be Bürstner's innovative motorhome Lyseo TD Gallery. A mere year after the prototype presentation, Bürstner will be exhibiting this streamlined semi-integrated low-profile motorhome, which features a second living level created with the aid of an inflatable alcove, as a serial production model.

Other new motorhomes

In the comfort class, the new additions to the model ranges consist primarily of the Limited Edition model Bürstner Limited and the popular Bürstner Lyseo TD. Furthermore, besides the Lyseo TD Gallery, another new model range will be added to the Bürstner Lyseo family. The coachbuilt integrated Bürstner Lyseo I interprets the #wohnfühlen home away from home feel that is typical for the brand in the classic way and closes the gap in its mid-price range segment offer.

The new compact FORD-based Bürstner Lineo T crosses the boundaries and combines the well-designed habitation space of a slimline semi-integrated low-profile vehicle (external width 220cm) with the agility of an ordinary van - the perfect Bürstner comfort class entry level model. At the Salon, it will be exhibited at the FORD stand.

New campervan models

The new convertible campervan Bürstner Playa, based on a Renault Trafic, and the Renault Master-based Delfin campervan are milestones of the company's strategy in the area of "new compact, urban vehicles".

Both the Bürstner Playa as well as the Bürstner Delfin will be available as a Limited Edition model, the LIMITED, to begin with. Each will be available with one popular layout that already includes all of the features that make the vehicles even more comfortable and cosy on holiday, as well as convenient to use as everyday transport.

From now onwards, the professional customisation of Bürstner campervans will be offered under the label "Bürstner Individual". Buyers of certain vehicles can order their customised model directly ex-factory. They can choose from a portfolio of exclusive product elements: Special decals in a range of designs, customised lettering, optional extras such as alloy wheels or a front grille; even individual requirements can be met.

The Bürstner Lineo Electric will be shown with a view to the future and electric transport. Together with the Bürstner Eliseo CNG exhibited in 2021, it proves once again that Bürstner is ready for the alternative drive systems of the future. The campervan, based on the Bürstner Lineo model range, is 100% electric, and has a range of up to 317km. Whether it will go into serial production is currently being considered and depends largely on the customer demand.

New in the caravan area

The most important changes are the caravan model range Premio and Premio Plus facelifts, as well as a Bürstner app for monitoring the Averso Plus vehicles.

My Bürstner app - smart vehicle monitoring and control

Another highlight in Bürstner's premium class is the new My Bürstner app, which makes living in a Bürstner even smarter. Two different-level versions have been realised: In the premium-class caravan Bürstner Averso Plus, it shows all of the caravan's various charge and fill levels. The new app also provides information about other important details such as the noseweight on the tow bar or the tyre pressure. All owners of the premium-class motorhome Bürstner Elegance can also additionally control comfort aspects such as the heating, the air conditioning system or the lighting via the app.

All new models and other new products that will be launched at the Salon will be on show at Bürstner's new exhibition area in Hall 6, Stand D03.

The latest press kits can be downloaded from www.buerstner.com/pressday.

Playa Limited Edition: Bürstner extends convertible campervan range with a Renault Trafic-based vehicle

Bürstner is continuing to extend its offer in the area of convertible campervans, vehicles that are also suitable for everyday use in urban areas and presents its new "Playa" on a Renault Trafic base. The Playa will initially be launched as a limited edition with additional comfort features.

Düsseldorf. Bürstner is continuing its long-standing collaboration with the chassis manufacturer Renault and is increasing its vehicle portfolio in the convertible campervan area with the Playa C 500 on a Renault Trafic base. Other layouts are being planned.

The Playa is a leisure vehicle with a pop-top roof that is suitable for everyday use; thanks to its compact dimensions, it is also easy to handle in urban traffic. In the interior, it reflects Bürstner's typical "wohnfühlen" home away from home signature style by cleverly combining its compactness with maximum living space utilisation. Ergonomic seating solutions and adjustable options, useful functional features as well as Bürstner-specific accessories such as the Home-Light® complete the range of home comforts. The Playa is equipped with a rail track system that makes it possible to convert the rear vehicle area in an extremely flexible way. The bench is easy to put in and take out to create maximum load space. Other highlights are the water tank, which is generously sized for this vehicle category and holds 50l, and various driver assistance systems.

Bürstner is offering the new Playa as a "Limited Edition" model. The standard extras include numerous comfort and design features such as 17" alloy wheels, a sun awning, a cooled glove box, a diesel parking heater and much more. The "Limited Edition" pack also includes habitation blackout blinds, a 41l compressor refrigerator, a third and fourth seat equipped with Isofix anchor points, a bench seat that converts into a bed as well as additional, cleverly stowed away cushions. Also included is the Bürstner Comfort Pack with a multimedia system and a sat-nav, as well as electronic extras (e.g. an additional USB charger and a 230V socket) to perfect the range of features.

"We consider the collaboration with Renault to be a continuation of our successful collaboration in the motorhome area." This cooperation is our answer to the high demand for compact convertible campervans that are also suitable for everyday use in urban environments," says Bürstner's head of sales Markus Pangerl. "We notice this every day when we talk to customers: There are many companies that offer campervan conversions, but making them cosy inside as well as functional down to the smallest detail, that's what makes our vehicles unique."

The Playa model range will be presented to the public for the first time at the Caravan Salon Düsseldorf 2022.

Bürstner Delfin is back, this time round as a campervan based on a Renault Master

With the Delfin, Bürstner is launching its first campervan based on the Renault Master, and is therefore extending its campervan portfolio for the third time within only twelve months. With the "Limited Edition" features as a standard, it already offers numerous home comforts in the mid-range price segment.

Düsseldorf. The name Delfin is closely associated with Bürstner's product history. This time round, the manufacturer, based in Kehl, Germany, chose this name for the new, first Renault Master-based Bürstner campervan, presented just in time for the new season. The base vehicle for the Delfin C 621 is a manual 135Bhp Renault Master 2.3 dCi (optional alternatives: 150Bhp and manual or automatic transmission) in a choice of three exterior colours. It will complete the large Bürstner family of mid-price range compact vehicles.

The Delfin's habitation reflects the "wohnfühlen" home away from home feel that is typical for Büstner: Well-balanced interior design, intelligent use of space and, above all, an ergonomic layout. In addition, the new Delfin always comes with the extensive "Limited Edition" features. In the exterior area, these include 16" alloy wheels, aluminium window frames, a sun awning and a spoiler protection guard, for example. In the interior, the "Limited Edition" features upgrade the vehicle with pilot seats covered in the same fabric as the upholstery in the habitation, pleated blackout blinds in the cab and a special lighting concept, for example. A multimedia system with a rear-view camera and other comfort characteristics are always included. The furniture comes in the light, contemporary furniture design and finish Casa Pino.

Ergonomic living

The dinette's functionality is well thought out. The table is space-saving and foldable, making it comfortable to get in and sit down. Thanks to the standard swivel function, the tabletop can be extended. Optionally, customers can order the mid-vehicle dinette designed in such a way that it easily converts into an additional berth. Ergonomic upholstery, an Isofix child seat anchor point and additional seat belts for two people complete this habitation solution.

Campervan single bed solution

Customers have a choice: They either use the full single beds (190x71/70), or they convert them into a double bed (190x178cm) with the aid of the slidable slated base. The large storage space underneath the bed can still be used completely after the bed has been converted, thanks to a special support mechanism. A gas bottle box that holds two 5kg bottles is also located under the bed.

Kitchen

How to integrate a real kitchen despite the limited space – Bürstner has solved this problem in the new compact Delfin. It is equipped with a 69-litre compressor refrigerator with double-hinged doors for optimum access, also from the outside. The kitchen is completed by a two-burner hob, a sink with an integrated  single lever mixer tap and a glass cover, and soft-close drawers.

 A real bathroom

The Delfin campervan has a large and wide washroom unit with double concertina doors. It is also equipped with a shower curtain and a pull-out handset. The integrated rooflight ensures optimum ventilation. Clothes can be hung up on the clothes rail, a standard feature. The bathroom cabinets are ergonomically positioned and easy to reach.

"The Delfin is part of our history. It has a lot to do with living comfort and the home away from home feel whilst you're on the road. In the new Delfin campervan, we have successfully realised our high living comfort standards in a compact space," says product manager Zoran Župan.

In Germany, the Bürstner Delfin will be available from specialist retailers from the 2023 season onwards.

Bürstner's 100% Electric Lineo Campervan

At the Caravan Salon, Bürstner will be presenting the Lineo in an electric version.  The campervan is equipped with a 100% electric engine and has a range of up to 317km. The decision as to whether it will go into serial production has not been made yet.

Düsseldorf. Bürstner will be presenting its first 100% electric vehicle at the Caravan Salon 2022: The campervan Lineo Electric on a Ford Transit base as a prototype that is almost ready to go into serial production. The leisure vehicle manufacturer, based in Kehl, Germany, is now following up the Eliseo CNG presented in 2021 with a second alternative drive system development.

The C 590 layout, already familiar from the Lineo range, will be converted into a 100% electric version. The 400-volt battery with a usable capacity of 68kWh is positioned underneath the main chassis. Depending on the serial and battery configuration, up to 317 kilometres can be travelled with a fully charged battery load. The reach can vary, due to factors such as the weather conditions, the vehicle handling, the route profile, the condition of the vehicle, and the age and condition of the lithium-ion batteries.

The Lineo Electric can be charged via a charging cable either at home, or at charging stations all over Europe; with the right hardware and software it takes a little over eight hours to fully charge a completely empty battery. The 100% electric engine is more eco-friendly and low emission than ordinary combustion engines, and also makes it possible to gain access to many inner city low emission zones again.

With the aid of three driving modes, the new Lineo Electric can be adapted to the respective terrain and driving conditions: The vehicle therefore offers a choice of driving in standard mode, driving in wet or icy conditions, as well as driving in a particularly economical mode. Activating the eco-mode also offers additional benefits with regard to eco-friendliness and economy.

"I am delighted that we have taken the next step towards a sustainable future with alternative drive systems with the Ford E-Transit-based Lyseo," declares Managing Director Jens Kromer. "The number of electric vehicles registered in Europe continues to rise to record-levels. With the Lyseo E-Transit, we have an actual solution that makes it possible to also realise this trend in the motorhome area. However, this development speed depends primarily on the further development of the respective charging infrastructures, and the adaptation of our production processes for battery-driven vehicles.

Germany saw a record number of new electric car registrations in 2021: Around 356,000 new 100% electric cars were registered, more than ever before. This trend continued throughout the first three months of 2022.

New: Bürstner Individual makes Bürstner campervans unique

From now onwards, the professional customisation of Bürstner campervans will be offered under the label "Bürstner Individual".

Düsseldorf. The trend towards vehicle customisation has also arrived in the caravanning industry. From now onwards, Bürstner offers Bürstner campervan purchasers the chance to order their customised vehicle directly ex-factory. "Bürstner Individual" is the name of the new label, which purchasers of a campervan (not available for all model ranges) can now order at the same time as their vehicle.

Under the motto "A Bürstner - as individual as you are", the brand meets the popular customer demand for vehicle exterior customisation. Customers can initially choose from a portfolio of exclusive product elements when they place their order: Special decals in a range of designs, customised lettering, optional extras such as alloy wheels or a front grille. Alternatively, customers can also realise their own exterior design ideas – always assuming they are feasible. For the customer, this means: One contact, high-quality materials, quality and warranty services.

"With our professional upgrading offer, we make the dreams of many of our customers who would like to customise their home on the road come true," explains Dominique Streif, head of the Bürstner After-Sales department. "

The next envisaged step is the extension of the customisation spectrum with a focus on the interior.

New: "My Bürstner" app - smart control system for luxury motorhome Elegance

What is already a standard in homes is now also finding its way into Bürstner's premium class. With the "My Bürstner" app, purchasers of a coachbuilt integrated Bürstner Elegance motorhome can now monitor and control their vehicle via their smartphone.

Düsseldorf. From the new season onwards, Bürstner's coachbuilt integrated motorhome Elegance will come with the "My Bürstner" app, which is connected to a central control unit in the vehicle that enables its smart control. The owners can access their Elegance's relevant cockpit information from anywhere and at any time via their smartphone, and the app also makes it possible to control numerous habitation elements and aspects.

The battery charge status, various fill levels as well as the servicing intervals are accessible at all times. The lighting and interior temperature as well as the position of the satellite system are also shown and can be controlled remotely. The app also includes intelligent checklists and various safety features. These standard functional features are always available in the app. The owners can also store scenarios in the "My Bürstner" app, such as, for example, automatically activating the heating on return to the vehicle, getting the satellite system ready or switching on the lights.

The system always includes a free subscription for the first two years (subject to a fee from two years after the initial registration date onwards). It also offers the possibility of being informed about such aspects as the status of the central locking system or the fact that the refrigerator door is not properly closed via push notifications.

"When it comes to a luxurious motorhome like our Elegance, it's simply state of the art to offer the customers a smart vehicle monitoring and control system to ensure that they feel as safe and comfortable as they do at home", declares chairman of the Bürstner management board Jens Kromer. "The app developers made very sure that it is easy and intuitive to use. The "My Bürstner" app may well be available for other model ranges at some point in the future."

The intuitive app is suitable for iOS and Android and can now be downloaded for free from the Google Play Store and the Apple Store. Within range of the vehicle, it communicates via Bluetooth, otherwise via the mobile network, also in other countries throughout Europe. The system can be updated, i. e. updates can be run at a later date that automatically update the system with new features.

The "My Bürstner" app will be on show for the first time at the Caravan Salon 2022 in Düsseldorf, Hall 6 Stand D03.

Award-winning Bürstner Lyseo Gallery goes into serial production

The new development highlight is the innovative and award-winning semi-integrated Lyseo Gallery with an inflatable over-cab alcove that will go into serial production in the spring of 2023, with two compact layouts that are not even seven metres long.

"Travel small, live large." That's the motto of Bürstner's Lyseo Gallery TD. It is now scheduled to go into serial production in the spring of 2023, and many of the prototype elements have been adopted – above all, of course, the inflatable over-cab alcove, but also many of the interior elements.

The inflatable over-cab alcove – a second living level

The Lyseo Gallery TD is based on Bürstner's semi-integrated Lyseo TD with a functional Thermo-Floor sandwich floor throughout. With the additional inflatable over-cab alcove, the Lyseo Gallery TD unites the advantages of a coach-built vehicle with those of an over-cab bed model: Its second level is lowered completely and securely locked with an electric locking system whilst travelling, giving the vehicle the streamlined silhouette of a low profile coach-built. Once parked up, the alcove can then be elevated in 90 seconds with the aid of compressed air and a specially developed air chamber system. The vehicle then reaches a maximum body height of approx. 3.7 metres. The over-cab area is not angled like a standard pop-top roof but offers a usable second living floor as it is elevated vertically. A sunroof skylight is also available as an optional extra.

Elevating the roof creates a second floor with a comfortable sleeping area with 110 cm of headroom in the alcove, which is easily accessible via a set of fixed stairs. The interior is defined by two furniture finishes - Sandy Grey and Casa Pino. Ergonomic design was also taken into account in the Lyseo Gallery TD. Accordingly, the washroom, bed and living area accesses are generously sized, and all shelves and storage compartments are arranged in a user-friendly way.

Two completely new layouts

The model range Lyseo Gallery TD will initially consist of two layout versions:

The TD 649 G is 699 cm long and is equipped with a curved rear lounge that converts into two additional berths. It has four seats with seat belts, an optional drop-down bed above the curved lounge, and the compressor refrigerator has a capacity of 175 l.

The TD 689 G is also 699cm long. This layout has an L-shaped lounge in the front area, and again a third and fourth seat, both with seat belts. It has a separate washroom in the rear with a separate shower, and a large wardrobe. The kitchen is equipped with a larder unit and a 138 l compressor refrigerator; a Triplex cooker is also available to order as an optional extra. A shoe locker, modern wall lighting and a docking station for the Bürstner Homelight® are all located in the entrance area.

Successful tests in the environmental chamber

In the environmental chamber, the Lyseo Gallery TD was tested in a number of climatic conditions. The inflatable alcove's resistance to heat, cold, wind and other weather-related challenges was tested in ten cycles, each consisting of a 24-hour test run. Bürstner's head of development Tim Niedick was extremely satisfied: "The alcove withstood all weather conditions. We tested it in temperatures ranging from -30°C to +80°C, in misty conditions, with a 1.5 m snow load, in the wind tunnel with the vehicle exposed to winds of up to 120 km/h head-on as well as sideways. The elevating and lowering mechanism as well as the locking system worked without a hitch in all conditions. The bellows and the folding mechanism remained intact. I am extremely satisfied, because all criteria were met, and we have achieved what we set out to do. With the Lyseo Gallery TD, you can travel in comfort all year round – in stormy and inclement weather, in sunshine and through snow.

Harmony Line extra pack

The Lyseo Gallery TD is available to order in the standard version, or with an additional Harmony Line pack of extras.

Both Lyseo Gallery TD layouts will be presented to the public for the first time at the Caravan Salon 2022 at Bürstner's new stand location in Hall 6.
